Starting position: Prone on chair, hands on pedals, arms straight. Shoulders slightly behind hands, legs extended long on table or boxes. Breathing: Inhale to retract scapulae, pedals move; exhale to protract scapulae, pedals press down. Scapulae move, trunk still. Imagery: Scapulae like two sliding doors opening and closing on the back.

【Direct】Scapular Retraction: On inhale, focus on gliding the medial borders of the scapulae smoothly toward the spine, keeping the humeral head centered within the glenoid fossa. Scapular Protraction: On exhale, increase the distance between the scapulae, feeling them widen across the rib cage according to its curvature. Head-Neck Alignment: Keep the center of the ear canal precisely aligned with the side of the shoulder on a horizontal plane. 【Indirect】Sliding Puzzle Pieces: Imagine your scapulae as two precision puzzle pieces on your back; they merge and separate extremely smoothly over the rib surface. Unfolding Scroll: Imagine your upper back as an ancient scroll slowly unfolding; during protraction, the scroll spreads evenly to both sides. Mountain Mists: The movement of the scapulae is like light mist swirling around mountain peaks (ribs); they rise, fall, and flow silently on both sides of the spine. 【Space】Vertical Elevator Shaft: Feel your hands inside two extremely narrow vertical elevator shafts; the pedal's movement must occur precisely along the shaft walls. Rear Projection Screen: Imagine a horizontal projection screen behind you; as the scapulae slide back, use their edges to evenly 'smooth out' the texture on the screen. Extending Axial Fiber: Visualize a flexible optical fiber running from the crown to the toes; this fiber must maintain constant tension throughout the movement. 【Feeling】Warm Butter (Tactile/Kinesthetic): Feel the scapulae gliding over the rib cage like pushing a block of butter in a warm pan; a silky, frictionless, and moist physical feedback. Lightly touch medial border of scapulae to guide retraction; gently press on thoracic spine to cue against excessive lumbar collapse.

PROGRESSION 进阶
P- increase spring tension for more control, decrease springs for less assistance; P- use chair only without trapeze table.
P-增加弹簧重量以增加控制,减少弹簧则减少协助;P-只用椅子进行练习。
REGRESSION 退阶
R- client shifts body position slightly back.
R-客户身体位置往后靠一点。
COMMON ERRORS 常见错误
Trunk flexion; cervical hyperextension; elbow hyperextension; scapular elevation; excessive scapular protraction.

PRECAUTIONS 注意事项
Non-weight bearing status; acute spinal or shoulder conditions; pregnancy (modify position).
